On my first visit, the staff helped me with dining directions, which I remember fondly. I'll definitely be coming back next year!

Very nicely renovated, close to Atocha and tapas bars
Location was noisy, walls between rooms thin, room tiny (I had to go into the shower to close the bathroom door!), wi-fi didn't reach room, so not good value for the money.

Clean and tidy as a whole. Fairly convenient location. Private and new bathroom. Good value for money.
The neighbourhood was not exactly decent and I didn't feel very safe esp in the evening. Once you are in the main street area, which is only around one or two streets away, however, it's much better. The front desk speaks very little english.

We loved the friendly welcome and enjoyed our clean room. Having two small kids, the location was perfect for walks to family-friendly spots like Retiro Park, where they ran around and had a blast! The air conditioning was a nice relief from the summer heat.
My kids wished for a play area for downtime.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially the cozy room with a tiny balcony and the free coffee and tea available all day. It's a nice touch to have relaxing options like enjoying a cup of tea in the hallway or heading to nearby restaurants for a bite. Just a heads up, the walls are a bit thin, so you may hear your neighbors, but it didn't spoil my experience ☕️

Proximity to Atocha railway station
Difficulty in locating, sign is very small. The hostal was in the process of renovation and the entrance and first 3 floors were dirty, dark, and very dusty.I was surprised to find it open. This is why Iwould not recommend it.However if the renovation is finished to the quality of the fourth floor rooms I would recommend it.
